Quality, durability and comfort are part of the Wings and Nomads DNA. The fabrics are extremely soft, 100% GOTS certified organic cotton, recycled polyester or other sustainable materials.
But what is the difference between Organic cotton or normal cotton?
Organic cotton comes from seeds that have not been genetically modified and is grown without the use of chemical pesticides or fertilisers. They use natural methodes, such a crop rotation, which benefit not only the soil, fauna and the environment, but create biodiversity and promote good health and quality of life for farmers and their communities.
Benefits of organic cotton:
- It only represents 0,7% of the 25 million tones of cotton produced annually
- 46% less impact on global warming
- 70% less acidification of land and water
- 91% less surface and groundwater use
Did you know that plastic bottles can be turned into clothing?
Recycled polyester is produced from PET bottles, the same clear plastic bottles used for bottled water which would otherwise end op in our oceans or become a polluting waste. The bottles are first clean, melted and purified. The liquid is blown into a jam to create clothing fabrics. Products that are made from recycled polyester are soft, durable and breathable.
The whole proces is checked by Fair Wear Foundation (FWF) to ensure decent working conditions. The organization has different labour standards based on the Universal Declaration on Human Rights.
